You are to hurry up – because 99 opponents are breathing down your neck. In the single survival mode there could be only one winner.
The initial map is cool, but players already know every bush and bug of it. That is why many of the fans are waiting for the big update that will bring new locations to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. And the developers promised a few new maps. Currently, the screenshots of a big desert map were presented in July of 2017. It looks kind of post-apocalyptic, with destroyed tall buildings. Unlike Erangel, the new desert map will be smaller. According to the official news, the new location will occupy only 4 square kilometers, but it will be sufficiently filled with various objects. This map will resemble Peru's desert. One of the level designers of this new map is Sean Wiederhof who previously worked on several AAA games like Call of Duty, We Happy Few and other visually stunning projects. For the original Playerunknown's Battlegrounds map, Wiederhof created an infamous military base.
Also the third map is developed. It may resemble the Mediterranean coast with a forest and a destroyed cosmodrome. All current and upcoming maps will also get new textures. Many first-party studios of Microsoft help Brendan Greene to improve the aiming system in PUBG. Recently it has been known that the authors of multiplayer/sandbox about pirates Sea of Thieves from Rare studios will help to develop the better physics for water surfaces in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.
